Sandisk Cruzer 4GB Not Working

I have a 4GB Sandisk Cruzer SDCZ36-004G and I can’t use it. It’s being recognized by my computer because every time I plug it into a USB port it chimes but nothing to install drivers comes up nor does it appear on ‘My Computer’ list of devices. It’s not in Manage > Disk Management and I’ve have tried just about every possible solution for this. It’s been like this for a while but I never really thought anything of it. The closest driver I can find for what it could be is ‘crusoe.sys’ which is in Windows > System 32 > Drivers but I don’t think that’s it.

I’m having exactly the same problem!  And of course I bought it a long time ago and just started using it, so I can’t take it back!

Sounds like you either have a bad USB port or your OS is Windows 7 64 bit to which there may not be a solution.
