SanDisk Clip Battery Life = 2 hrs?!?!

I bought my sandisk clip during May of 2012, I added 4GB MicroSD card during January or so.  I’m not sure if this is relevant information, but now my battery life - after charging it overnight - is 2 hrs at best, which really ■■■■■ because it’ll barely last my walk to work + the gym.

What should I do?  Replace battery? buy a new one?  Anyone have a fix for this?

Does anyone know if there’s a better MP3 player? perhaps one that doesn’t have internal memory so I can just use my memory cards?

Thanks in advance!

I’ve yet to come across any device that meets claimed battery life, but 2 hours is definitely too short. I would rma it if you still can, I wouldn’t mess with a replacement battery, not something for the timid or even not so timid.

Agreed.

I bought my Clip+ 4GB in November 2012, runtime is ~6hrs, max 6:30 with mp3 files. My old Clip+ 8GB [2010 i think] had runtime obout 11hrs, both without SDcard. Is this normal?

Let’s look at this logically:

One Clip+ player = 6 hrs.

One Clip+ player = 11 hrs.

(SanDisk’s estimated playing time = 15 hrs.)

Both playing same files, neither having SD card inserted. Assuming backlight brightness, time on settings and amount of button presses are identical, “Is this normal?”

What do YOU think? :confounded:

If you are dis-satisified or think there is a problem, call SanDisk Tech Support/Customer Service. You don’t need justification from anybody here.
