Sandisk 16GB MicroSDHC Card Freezes Up the Fuze

The card actually does hold as much as it says (I tried filling it up when I read your post).

Hm… I don’t think it holds as much as it says if it is hashed up card… It would show the names of the files above its original size, but it would be ONLY names of the files, not contents. Try to fill this card with songs or pictures and then try to open a picture or play a song from it - I’m sure it will tell you “the file is corrupt” …

And right you are. It holds all the files but then, when I look at them afterwards, they have the file name with 8kb sizes.
Most files come up as corrupt. Some song names come up as little boxes and other strange characters, but about 20% of them work.

Open a dispute in eBay and see if you can do it in PayPal as well. I had a scammer and after a few weeks of no reply from the scammer, either eBay or PayPal refunded my payment in full.

Hello guys!

I have a 8GB Fuze and my 16GB microSDHC card arrived today. I’m having exactly the same problems TheBard is having. I think I also got a fake card. The card is also a SanDisk, and I got it because I wanted to be sure it would work. The problem is that I bought it from a Brazillian site which is similar to Ebay. I’m from Brazil. I would like to know if you could tell me how to identify if my card is a fake. I’d be very thankfull.

Best regards,

Luciano.

I opened a dispute last week; on Monday they told me that if by the 20th the seller doesn’t reply, they would contact me.

As to finding out if it’s fake, I suggest what Etoja said - filling the card up and trying to open the files. I’m not sure, and I didn’t trying it on a real MicroSDHC card, but I was able to make the logo fade away by rubbing it.

When I’ll get an 8GB microSDHC tomorrow, is it necessary to format this card first on my Windows PC to FAT32 before(?) putting it into the Fuze?

I didn’t, when I had mine. And whenever I wanted to clear the content from the card, after I’d had it, I would just bring it up in Explorer, Select all, and click delete…no formatting in 11 months of ownership.
