remove songs from mp3 player model m240

Have a Sansa SanDisk mp3 player model m240 that I’ve had for years with no problems & love it.  However I need to know how to remove an individual song or several songs or maybe even all the songs.  Can anyone explain how to do that?  Thank you.

How did you put them (the songs) on it? Just reverse the process.

Hi,

The system files you want to delete are not in the ‘recycle bin’ so you will have to get the system files from somewhere else. SanDisk doesn’t have them on their website, so your best bet would be to search the Internet for them. Another way would be to find someone else with the same MP3 player and copy their system files to your computer and then move them back to your PC.

If you haven’t done anything else and you still have the Explorer Window open, try and click UNDO. If that doesn’t work, contact SanDisk. If they don’t help, a last ditch effort would be to buy a new m240 and try and get the system files from that to your old m240. If that don’t work, return the old m240 to the store and tell them it don’t work and you want your money back.

Are you sure you replied to the correct thread? Your advice doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the TC’s problem.

Like gwk1967, I have to ask the same thing. No one mentioned anything about system files or the Recycle Bin. What thread were you reading?

And considering the fact that the m200 series has been discontinued for years now, there’s not much chance of finding a new one to steal the system fles off of it (even if that were possible). And even less chance of the store where the OP’s was bought from taking back after all this time (years).

Hi,

Connect your Sansa M240 player to your computer with the provided USB cable.

Double-click “My Computer” or “Computer” on the desktop. Locate the Sansa M240 player icon in “Drives” section, and double-click it to launch the player’s drive.

Click on a song and press “Delete” to permanently remove the song. Double-click the folder of playlist songs. Click on each song and press “Delete” for each unwanted song.

Disconnect the Sansa M240 player from your computer when finished.

Hope this information helps you.

Hi,

It depends. If Windows Media Player reads your mp3 player, then do it there. However, if its an ipod, you need to use itunes and if its another type, you may need to download the software to use it. You can also remove songs using mycomputer sometimes, depending on the mp3 player.
