They could have it like on a previous firmware where the Slotradio option only exists in the menu when a Slotradio card is installed. I would prefer this, as it would let me know if I have the Slotradio card in the player or some other card. Sandisk could do this as well for podcasts and audiobooks, and have those menu choices only available when the player has files on it it considers in those catagories. They coould also move these menu choices to the main menu, and not have them under music.

this is exactly the way I’d like to see the main menu! (not to forget recordings).

Furthermore,   ‘Recently added’ and ‘My Top Rated’ could be implemented as Playlists and then be found in the Playlists list.

What do we have to do to get it into the next Firmware Update?

  1. Get hired by SanDisk.
  2. Get transfered to the firmware development team.
  3. Gain seniority & outshine everyone else on the team so as to gain credibility.
  4. Brown-nose the higher-ups so they will listen to your ideas.
  5. Keep pounding away at them until they either fire or transfer you to another divison because you’re a pest harping on the same issues and theyr’e tired of hearing about it, or sign a statement agreeing to work for no pay for the next year if they will implement your ideas.
  6. Spend the next 10 years working your way up the corporte ladder until at long last you are the one making these decisions. By then, these players will have been long discontinued and 2 or 3 generations of newer players will have emerged, so it won’t matter any more.
