I currently have Sansa Fuze (firmware version: v01.01.11ª) and I love it. The only problem that I’m currently having with my Sansa Fuze is the Playlist, when I try to add a song to my playlist (using the sansa fuze) it only allows me to add up to 50 songs, I have 500 songs in total so I believe I need a least 80 songs to be in my playlist. How can I add more than 50 songs to my playlist? It is possible?
One more thing, sometimes I connect my Sansa Fuze to my stereo using a cable but I think the volume of my Sansa Fuze is kind of low, even that I already adjusted the volume settings to “high” is too low when I connect my Sansa Fuze to my stereo (of course the default volume is good when listening with the audio phones). I just wonder if there is a high to increase the volume of my Sansa Fuze when connecting to my stereo.
Also, does somebody know when the new firmware will be available to download?

If you are talking about the GOlist, I believe the maximum songs is 50. You can create “playlists” with more songs though. A lot of people have problems with this however as SanDisk didn’t make it exactly “intuitive”. Read the forums and do searches to find the best way that will work for you.

There hasn’t been any “scuttlebutt” about any f/w release for anything but the Clip lately. If SanDisk is working on any, they’re playing it pretty close to the vest.
Your stereo is looking for a line-out; the Fuze is of course a headphone jack. There’s an impedance mismatch between those two. It makes for crappy sound. You can turn up the stereo and make the crappy sound louder, but I’m guessing that’s not what you’re looking for. Unfortunately there’s no good option.

The Sansa Base Station (and others) are very good options. They use the 30-pin connector, not the headphone jack & plug into your stereo system via the AUX IN jacks, so once it’s hooked up your stereo sees it as a compatible input device like a casette, CD player or turntable.
You’re right in that counting on the Sansa alone to power home stereo system speakers through the headphone jack is ridiculous. There’s just no way! But the available docking stations “bridge the gap” and charge the little bugger to boot!
Well now I understand that I can’t put more than 50 songs in my “Go List” but I would like to create a “playlist” since I need a least 80 favorites songs.
Can sombody please tell me what are the steps in order to create a succesfully playlist? I searched the forum for “playlist” and I was looking at various posts but nothing worked, I tried to use Wimap (lastest version) and I followed this guide that I found here:
Even that I did what the guide says I’m getting an empty playlist as other people. I tried to create a playlist with windows media player 11 and not luck at all, same thing with MP3tag software and I coudn’t get it to works, I always see an empty playlist.
Hi and thanks for your reply, I’m currently using Windows Vista as well but I didn’t understand how you created the playlist, I don’t know if these instructions are for winamp or any other software that creates playlist. Let’s suppose those instructions are for winamp, if I open any song with winamp I can’t find a way to double click the song and get the “create playlist” option.

The procedure that TamamaEX is describing creates the playlist with Windows Media Player, and yes it usually ADDS the music to your player, even if it already resides there. So you end up with double songs taking up twice the space, unless you them go through and delete the “dupes”.
You right-click on the song file in Windows Explorer & then select “add to playlist” (or something similar). This then brings up your list (if any) of playlists in WMP.

A playlist is just a list of files, it’s not the actual files themselves, so it takes almost no space.
The methods to create playlists differ depending on whether you are using MTP mode (.pla style playlists) or MSC mode (.m3u style playlists). If you are using MSC mode, search the forums for m3u and you’ll find answers. Otherwise, the steps described above work for MTP. You can also look in the Clip forum, as playlists work the same for both.
There is some hope for a true line out over a simple cable without requiring the base station, but for now the base station is the only option.
Regarding a FW update, Sansafix posted one month ago that the new Fuze FW was expected in 4-6 weeks. So, assuming it’s still on track, it should be out within the next week or two.
No, the playlist I created was not even 1KB. I doubt if it added anything to my player besides a list of which songs to play. I did not use the Windows Media Player for my Fuze ever. I used the drag-and-drop method from windows explorer.
I’ll try to explain it again.

2.) When the AutoPlay window appears, click “Open folder to view files.”
3.) Find any song and right click it.
4.) It should have an option that will say “create playlist” or something similar.
5.) A new file called “New Playlist.pla” should have created.
6.) Double-click on the file.
7.) A new window will appear and you’ll see the song that you chose from step 3.
8.) Start dragging other songs to the new file.
9.) I don’t know if it’s necessary but I moved the “New Playlist.pla” to the Playlist folder.
Very cool way of creating a Playlist with content that has already been put onto the player. I created a playlist and left it in the album folder and it still showed up in Playlists menu.
I have a few question regarding your instructions:
1: In what mode my sansa fuze is suppose to be?
2: Whatever song I choosed from my PC I don’t see any option with “add to play list”, what I only see is this: “Add to windows media player list”.
Now if I add the song to “windows media player list” I don’t see any file “New Playlist.pla” saved…
3: Now I got stock with step 4 and 5, I don’t see the file that was created…
I’m also confuse with step 8.

Hmm, I don’t have my Fuze with me because I sent it back to Amazon for a replacement because of the stuck pixels on the screen. But I know that I did not use other programs other than Windows Explorer. Maybe try going to My Computer > Fuze > Internal Memory? > Music > any song and try right clicking it to see if there’s an option for playlist? See if that works.
If that does not work, I can send you my .pla so you can edit later.

This works. I did this. I actually left clicked a bunch of songs, holding the Control key because they were all over the place, then right clicked on them to make a playlist. I did it this way because when I first got my Fuze I didn’t have some songs even typed up in my media player (had only a few at work) and then I decided to add some names at least (in the song area, why I don’t know, just wanted to do it quick). So this way I can listen to the artist through the playlist. After I realized what I did, I at least have the album and artist.
This actually helped me a lot, well I was able to create the playlist and I see it in my Sansa Fuze, but I’m not able to add more songs to my playlist, I don’t know how can I add more songs since I only have one in there. I try to drag and drop any songs from my Sansa Fuze to my Playlist but I can’t get it to work, when I drag and drop the song the song actually is added to my playlist folder and not to my playlist file.
Can you please explain how can I add more songs to my playlist?
