Passport will not let me type password to unlock?

Hi All!

Please can someone help!

My passport had always worked fine on my HP laptop and also my MacBook Air. When I recently plugged it into my MacBook Air it showed up in my finder as normal but when I clicked on it, to unlock the passport it didn’t take me to the usual ‘type your password to unlock’ page. I have no idea what to do especially because there are important files that I need on the passport.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Try to download the WD Security app from
https://downloads.wdc.com/wdapp/WD_Security_Standalone_Installer_Mac_2_1_1_81.zip

It might not work on Mac OSX Big Sur but you can try.

Use the App to help unlock the drive. You might able to the WD discovery to unlock the drive too, if it recognize it.
