My regret is buying a Sandisk microSD card.

I live in Turkey. I bought a Sandisk Extreme Pro 512GB micro SD card. However, when I opened it and inserted it into my Insta 360 X5 action camera, it malfunctioned. (I didn’t even use it; the card malfunctioned without being used at all.)

After contacting Sandisk representatives, I explained the problem, emphasizing that the product has a 10-year warranty and that it malfunctioned on first use despite never having worked before.

Their response was: “We do not offer warranty service in Turkey. Also, we do not ship products to Turkey. Therefore, we cannot provide an exchange. If you are outside of Turkey, an exchange may be possible. Please contact the Turkish distributor when you purchased the product; they will arrange the exchange.” As they suggested, I contacted Arena, the Turkish distributor. Arena said that Sandisk needed to send an email confirming the exchange. When I forwarded this to Sandisk, they refused, saying they couldn’t help and even claiming there was physical damage. Furthermore, despite the Arena barcode being on the packaging, they’re making excuses like the product wasn’t purchased from a distributor.

In short, Sandisk isn’t treating everyone fairly in the exchange process. They claim exchanges are possible for people with different addresses, but they make it difficult for those living in Türkiye. If I had a different address, they wouldn’t consider it physical damage when sending a replacement card, but when I emailed them about an exchange in Türkiye, they dismissed it as physical damage. This company will definitely do the same for your country. They don’t have a fair approach to customers. Despite offering a 10-year warranty service in Türkiye, they were completely unhelpful.

I ask you: Why don’t they have authorized service centers in Turkey for the card they market with a 10-year warranty, and why can’t they send any spare parts? If they can’t provide service, why are they deceiving people with a 10-year warranty? Now, unfortunately, I’ll have to throw away this card that I can’t even use, let alone operate once. I hadn’t even paid the first installment. Anyone considering buying this product should think twice. You’ve probably read many complaints lately about the poor quality of these cards. I was treated unfairly; don’t let the same happen to you.
