My password does not work after an update.

After I encountered some type of glitch or update, my SanDisk Extreme SSD password no longer works. I’ve used the same password for several years and I’ve tried every variation of password(s) that I use. Nothing works and I wonder if the SSD was somehow reset to a default password. I have a lot of files on this drive that I need to recover and it was only partially backed up. I really need to unlock it and I appreciate your help.
