My Passport Ultra 2TB unrecognizable by any Operating System

I have a 2TB Ultra passport that was connected to a macbook and became accidentally unplugged. Since then it will not show up on the mac, pc, or even Linux operating system.

I can see that the drive is connected to the Mac via About this Mac>System Report>USB (shows WD Passport) but I cannot see the drive in disk utility or via command line diskutil list

When connected to a PC I can see the drive in Disk Manager and it says it needs to be initialized, however I cannot initialize it. It says I/O device error. I have tried downloading WD tools to scan the drive or update the firmware and it says it fails the test.

I have tried looking at the drive on a machine running Linux and it doesn’t show up on the Linux system either.

Is the drive just dead? When connected it will sit there for about a minute then it will make a noise, possibly a click, but it isn’t constantly clicking.

I tried file recovery software but it needs the drive to be listed as a lettered drive in order for it to try and pull data from the drive.

Thanks
