My Passport 2TB USB 3.0 problem - drive is not recognized

Hi,

I have a problem with the recognition of My Passport drive on USB 3.0 ports. Here are the symptoms:

  • drive is not recognized on the front USB 3.0 port, nor directly on the mainboard (ASUS H87-PRO, C2 chipset stepping)

  • drive is recognized and works on the front and back USB 2.0 ports

  • another drive - My Passport Essentials 1TB works on both USB 2.0/3.0 front/back ports

I have already updated the firmware to 1.022 and tried with the USB 3.0 cable from the My Passport Essentials drive.

Is there anything else I can do before RMA?

Hello coffeeborg,

Have you tried updating the USB 3.0 drivers of the computer?

The reason I’m saying this is because the drivers that use a 1TB unit might be slightly different from the latest 2TB unit.
