My Device not working properly

Greetings all.
I purchased a WD My Passport recently like 1-2weeks ago. Yesterday i tried to use it but realised there is some problems with it. When i tried to transfer files like videos over from my computer to this device, it somehows loads very slowly, or dont at all. Over time the device isnt responding.

The file im trying to transfer is like only 200mb or less.

Why is this happening? any help pls? Thanks.

Welcome to the WD Community.

Are you using the drive on a desktop computer or laptop? If is a desktop, please try using the drive on the back USB ports of the computer to see if it makes any difference.

I have WD essential 640 GB
the issue with drive is when i transfer a file it starts with a good transfer rate but few seconds later the transfer rate drops to 300-500 kbps
And also want to know
Right now my drive has a micro usb port in its PCB board
Is it possible to replace the PCB board with SATA ?
