When I want to transfer a big file to my WD My passport 1 TB ,initially the transfer speed goes normal ,but after completing 8/7% the speed drops down to 1-0.00bytes , which didnt happened before .I dont know what is happening .What can I do?
Ensure that your hard drive is connected to a USB 3.0 port, which is usually marked with a blue color. Connecting to a USB 2.0 port can significantly reduce transfer speeds. Sometimes, the problem could be with the USB cable. Try using a different cable to see if that improves the transfer speed. Outdated drivers can cause performance issues. Check the manufacturer’s website for the latest drivers for your external hard drive and install them. If your drive is heavily fragmented, it can slow down the transfer speeds. Use the built-in disk defragmentation tool in Windows to defragment the drive. Use the Windows Check Disk utility to scan for and fix file system errors that might be causing the slowdown.
