hi is it possible to migrate my old hard drive to my new SDD drive with them both install in my desktop at the same time? also where can I download the software? I cant find any on SanDisk website Thanks

yes you can migrate with both the SSD and HDD connected internally to your desktop. SanDisk offers a one time use cloning software for free in the SSD Dashboard. Use the link below to install the SSD Dahboard and on the Tool tab there will be an option for Apricorn cloning software.

Thanks for that link. When Sandisk says “One Time”, how would it know that it’s not used multiple times already?

the software does a check and will only run one time. If the clone is sucessful the software locks out unless you purchase it to unlock it.

Does your old hard drive have a Windows operating system? If so, you need to use the “System Migration” function of a dedicated disk cloning software to completely migrate the data and Windows system from the old hard drive to your new solid-state drive (SSD). After a successful migration, your new SSD will fully inherit the operating system, installed software, drivers, and all personal files from the old hard drive. You can follow the steps in this article:

After the migration is complete, to boot the system from the new SSD:

  1. Restart your computer and press the Del or F2 key repeatedly (depending on your motherboard brand) during startup to enter the BIOS settings.
  2. Locate the Boot menu and change the First Boot Device to your new SSD.
  3. Save and exit (usually by pressing F10). The computer will then quickly boot into the system from the new SSD.

Once in the new system, open “This PC,” and you will find that the new SSD has become your C drive, while the old hard drive has become another drive letter.

You can directly access the old hard drive and continue accessing your movies, photos, or documents on it.

Alternatively, you can format the old system disk (formerly the C drive) of the old hard drive in “Disk Management” to free up space and use it as a pure data storage disk.
