I have fitted a New Sandisk Ultra II 240gb to my pc after my first sandisk Ultra II 240gb stopped working after formating it.
My problem now is that the new SSD drive cant be booted up with new iso. On checking it with the dashboard program it is showing that 17gb is in use. Why ??, and how do I retrieve this missing 17GB as the drive is brand new and never used.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated
the drive should not have any data on it if it is new. You will not see the full 240 as usable space due to the calculation from decimal to binary. this is the same with all storage products.
you can use the diskpart clean command from the command prompt to clear all partitions and data from the drive. This should restore it to the original state.
