has any one figured it out…how to lock and more important…un-lock.
i just got my new one yesterday.so i think i have the new firmware
nope…i have the old firmware.
so how do you lock it
the directions i found does not lock it :((
ok found the how to video on-line
hold play/pause for 3 seconds… to lock
to unlock slide up on vertical line
seems to work so far 
If you update the firmware (which you should do), the LOCK has been switched to the power button , as described in the updated User Manual. Much easier and stright-forward.
This was the 1st thing user’s complained about, and the 1st thing SanDisk fixed with the intial firmware update.
