My 4GB cruzer micro drive, which had been working perfectly, suddenly stopped - now I get: “U3 Launchpad Error” upon bootup: the drive is now unavailable and asks for “formatting.” Obviously, something has corrupted the drive. How do I fix / get access to my files on the drive? Please help. Thanks.
It sounds like the File Allocatiion Table (FAT) got corrupted by an unsafe removal. Try the Cruzer in a different pc or two and see if that helps. Otherwise you will have to revert to using your backup files.
