I’ve got a new Jam, and I want to update the firmware, which out of the box, is 1.15, to 1.16, which seems to be the most recent, as far as I can tell. When I go here, per the instrux – https://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/17411/related/1 – it tells me to download a .hex file:

The problem is that my newish Acer laptop running Windows 10 Home doesn’t know what to do with the .hex file when I click on it. I shows me this (in case the screenshot I attached doesn’t show up, here’s the text of the message):
This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page.
I tried using the standalone SanDisk MP3 Firmware Updater
here – http://downloads.sandisk.com/mp3updater/SanDiskMP3Updater.exe – but it shows that there are no updates for the 1.15 firmware (screenshot attached).
