How to undo password on my WD hard drive

hello,

I have my wd external hard drive. I need to play videos on my TV but since it is password protected i am unable to do so. I want to know how can i remove password protection, i know my password.

my wd smartware doesnt show the option of drive settings.

Hello,

When you connect the drive to the computer, make sure to unlock the unit and goes to the settings tab on the WD Smartware software and you will see the option setup drive.

On the Your Drive is Secure dialog:
a. Type your password in the Password box.
b. Select the Remove security option.
c. Click Update Security Settings.
