How to un-encrypt a file in the vault?

Hello -

I just installed SecureAccess on the Mac and am running it on my Sandisk Ultra 32GB drive. I got my files into the vault but can’t figure out how to get them out! I can’t use the Save Files to… option (“unable to save into folder”) and if I open it and try to save it directly from whatever app is running, that doesn’t work either. I need to be able to open a file, save it on the computer or on the USB drive unencrypted while I work on it, then put it back in the vault. Is that not possible?

Thanks – Barbara

Dear member of SanDisk Community, welcome.

Please, do not grieve, friend:

Remember that, there are two softwares, one for Windows and one for Mac.

And SanDisk SecureAccess Software you must install in the UFD.

Compatibility:
SanDisk SecureAccess software is supported by Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS 10.5 and up. Use with a Mac requires other software download.

The latest version of SanDiskSecureAccessV2, you can download (free) from here:

I installed the Mac software on the thumb drive. I assume that is what you mean by the UFD. I still can’t figure out how to get a file out of the vault.

   Hi Barbara,

If, on the UFD (pendrive or Unit F__lash Drive), you should have two files:

1-  SanDiskSecureAccessV2_ mac , (the application).
2-   SanDiskSecureAccess Vault (which is the folder that contains the encrypted files).

3-   If you lose or delete to SanDiskSecureAccessV2_mac (1), there is no problem, as other download, and ready.
4-   But if you lose or delete a SanDiskSecureAccess Vault (2), missed all content.
5-   If, you can change the name, the application (1).
6-   Do not you can change the name, the folder/Vault (2), because the name is generated by the application (1), and if you change it, the application will not open, and will generate a new Vault.
7-   If, you can move on, too, to the application (1), a any folder.
8-   You can not move the folder/Vault (2). You should leave it in the root of the UFD, because that is where the going “find” the application (1).

Luck.
