I was given a Sansa product from a friend who has since lost the book and everything to this piece of equipment. I know I can get online with it through Yahoo but I can’t find the type of product I have to even ask a serious question about it. Grrrr. I’m getting frustrated. Any help would be appreciated.
It might help if you could identify if it’s an MP3 player or a flash drive.
If it’s an MP3 player, look on the back for a model number. Also look in each of the player-specific boards hre on the forum. In each one usually the top (or first) shaded post is the Gerneral Information. Also usually, this information post will contain a link to the User’s Guide which in most cases will have a picture that you can compare to what you have.
You can also click the link at the (very) top of every page here to go to the SanDisk main website or the Sansa store and see if anything looks familar.
There is also this other SanDisk community forum for other SanDisk products besides MP3 players.

I have a Sansa Clip+. You can put a BIC Crystal ballpoint or any ballpoint that has an Outside Diameter of 0.267" or so that you can open the clip, put the pen under the clip, move the pen gently up toward the hinge as far as you can go. With a bright light and a magnifier, I have a 5X loupe that I bought in a hardware store many years ago, a 10z
You will find the serial number etched in the vertical bar that is just behind the vertical bar of the clip itself. On that clip opened vertical bar is the serial number of your Sansa Clip+. If you push the pen toward the hinge with forcing it, you see an etched FCC symbol with a CE to the right if the FCC symbol. Below this line of Symbols is an etched that says Made in China and below that is an etched line that says Sansa Clip+. Another answer on this forum says the the serial number is etched on the bottom of the player. First looked there with my loupe I found nothing but when I finally opened the clip and found what appears to be a serial number and information I had a Sansa Clip+, I figure the serial number on bottom of the the player was for a Sansa Clip. Since I do not have one of those I cannot tell you if there is more information under the clip it self.
