I’ve got some playlists that I’d like to delete from my player, some of them are titled but they have no content because they were playlist transfer attempts not done correctly, when I first got the player. When I put the player in MSC mode where I can view the contents in under My Computer / Sansa Clip, I can’t see those playlists. These particular files take no space from the player but I’d still like to get them out of the playlists files. How can I find them when viewing the player on the computer? Or, is there any way to delete them from the player itself as you can with an individual song?

You probably need to view the files in MTP mode. Files transferred in MSC mode can’t be seen in MTP mode, & vice versa.
This doesn’t help at all. I have the same question/problem. Is there an definitive and “clear” answer?
Even 2 years after Sasafrass’ reply, his answer is correct. Connect in MTP mode to see, edit and/or delete playlists that were put on the device while connected in that mode. This includes playlists created with Windows Media Player.
I think the brochure that comes with the Clip says that if you want to delete a file (Playlist or not), you should press the down button while the song is playing, select Delete, confirm the deletion and Voila! All gone.

This on-board Delete funtion will only send a song file to the hereafter, not a playlist.
Write down the name of the playlist. Connect the device in either MTP or MSC mode and look for the file on the player, use search if need be. If you don’t find it try the other mode. When you find it delete it. On my player the playlists are in the music directory, but that’s where I created them.
