How do I move files from internal memory to SDHC card?

I have an SDHC card plugged in, but there’s still a bunch of music on the Fuze’s hard drive that I loaded when I first got it.  I’d like everything to be on the card in case of hard drive failure, but I can’t figure out how to move it over.  I switched USB modes and can see the file names under “Media > Music” in Windows Explorer (XP) and it looks like I should be able to copy or move them, but it won’t let me (even though I can delete them).  Is this some sort of goofy copy protection thing, and can I get around it?

FYI, I just installed Rockbox recently, but it wouldn’t let me move the files before or after I switched.

You should be able to just copy them from the fuze to your computer or card whether you’re in MTP mode or MSC mode.  From what you describe, it sounds like the song files themselves are protected.

It’s possible.  I ripped them from my CD collection into Windows Media Player, so they may have been copy protected at some point.  No big deal overall, since I still have the original CDs, but most of them weren’t backed up so I’d have to rip them again.

Any other ideas, if this isn’t the problem?

I think WMP copy protects them by default, unless you turn that option off. So that could very well be the answer.

If you right-click on the song file and select “properties”, then click on the summary tab and in “advanced” summary, do you see “protected” listed?  It’s listed for mp3s, but may not be there for other formats.
