Having problems with my SanDisk Sansa Clip 1GB

Hello I need some help. I have a SanDisk Sansa Clip 1GB mp3 player. I got a new computer tower recently. I downloaded it onto my computer which is running with WindowsXP. Upon entering where the files are located, I click on the music file and it comes up empty. There are songs on the clip itself. Why is my music not showing up? Did I download the hardware wrong? Please respond quickly.

I am guessing from your description that you are now accessing the Clip in MSC mode but your files were transferred in MTP  mode (probably using Media PLayer?).

As others have noted elsewhere on these forums, if you transfer files in MTP mode these will not be visible if you subsequently connect your Clip to your computer in MSC mode. By default, the Clip’s USB mode is set to automatic (on my Mac it will choose MSC, but on my daughter’s PC I think it chooses MTP when set to auto). I suggest you check the mode your Clip is set to in the Settings menu and try each in turn. If you want to transfer your music using drag-and-drop I suggest you set the Clip to MSC mode and leave it in that mode.

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, but if your files were originally transferred using Media Player, you may need Media Player (or WinAmp, etc) to view them.
