Having owned & purchased the Sansa View, e260, & Fuze, and my share of Ipods. I have to say that the Fuze, is by far the best Media Player I have ever owned. Having said that I would like to suggest something that I think would make the Fuze even better. A touch screen “Fuze”. The next generation of Sansa Media Players, and it can be called “Sansativity”, to imply the touch-screen features. The unit would be the same size of the Fuze, and have all the same dimensions. The power button functions & location is perfect as it is. The adapter, and headphone location is also perfect where they are, although a mini-usb connector would be better, for data connections/transfer. I would imagine this would also allow for more component space inside the actual unit. The location of the MicroSD card again, is also perfect where it is. The only thing that would be different with this new unit, is that in the “Home” button would be moved to either the top left or right-hand side of the media player; above either the Powerbutton, or the MicroSD slot, and that the entire front of the media player would be touch sensitive. Scrolling would work the same. I can already tell how my thumb, already naturally scrolls across my Fuze, when held in any direction. The center click option, I haven’t figured out, but considering the success of the Fuze, I am sure your engineers can figure something out. Lastly if this new product also had a 16gb new brother to add to the family that would be awsome. I currently have an 8Gb Fuze, with a 16Gb MicroSD card, and its about 90% full. Unfortunately Im a bit of an audiophile so quality of sound is always my first concern, and at the current time the Fuze fits those needs.
Anyhow just had a suggestion. If something like this ever made it to market. I’d love to know, so that I could be the first to buy it.
