Firmware update SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD V2 (SDSSDE61-2T00-G25) (burns hand when touch SSD)

Hi all. I have a problem with SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD V2 (SDSSDE61-2T00-G25). The drive gets very hot (burns your hand when you touch it) when connected to a MacBook pro 2020 m1. There are a lot of customer reviews about this problem, I’m worried that the disk may break due to overheating. I assume that the problem can be solved by updating the firmware. I have 2 questions:

  1. Does anyone have this problem and how hot is your Sandisk extreme Portable external drive? Is it normal for the drive to get so hot?
  2. What software can I use to update the SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD V2 firmware to the latest version.

I really appreciate your help and answers. My contacts for communication to solve the problem of overheating together:

Hi @roman2p0,

We understand that your SSD drive is overheating. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We would advise you not to use the device anymore as it may damage your host device as well.
