Firmware update SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD V2 (SDSSDE61-2T00-G25) (burns hand when touch SSD)

Hi all. I have a problem with SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD V2 (SDSSDE61-2T00-G25). The drive gets very hot (burns your hand when you touch it) when connected to a MacBook pro 2020 m1. There are a lot of customer reviews about this problem, I’m worried that the disk may break due to overheating. I assume that the problem can be solved by updating the firmware. I have 2 questions:

  1. Does anyone have this problem and how hot is your Sandisk extreme Portable external drive? Is it normal for the drive to get so hot?
  2. What software can I use to update the SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD V2 firmware to the latest version.
