I just tried plugging in my 5 year old Western Digital 500 GB external hard drive into the wall and didn’t hear anything spinning and the front LED didn’t turn on. I was wondering if the drive is dead, or maybe the power adapter isn’t working properly. Thanks.
You can try calling/Emailing tech support to see if they have any replacement power adapters for your hard drive.
