Okay it’s been working for about a year with no problems and all of a sudden the light does not appear to come on anymore and my computer does not detect the drive being plugged in. I’ve read some forum posts and people say open up the box and see if anything has been burnt out so i did so, everything seems fine, no burnt smells or anything. I removed the USB Chip that connects to the hard drive leaving it to loop like a normal HD then put the power lead in the USB Chip and the light comes on fine which tells me it only doesnt work when connect to the hard drive… any help to fixing this would be great!! Thanks
Does the drive spin up, or sound like it is trying to spin up?
Have you tried connecting the drive directly to your computer’s motherboard?
