ExpressCache keeps on filling/flushing the cache

PLEASE HELP FIND THE SOURCE OF THIS ISSUE:

Background: ExpressCache has 2 components, the engine (service) and the user interface application (Windows app).

In order to identify the source of this issue (i.e. the engine or the application), we need to:

  1. Disable the windows application completly. 

  2. Make sure the application is not running.

  3. Check if the engine is caching.

  4. Check if the cache is being reset after Windows starts or reboot.

IF YOU EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE ON YOUR SYSTEM, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS:

  1.  Exit the ExpressCache Application using the Tray Icon menu “Exit”.

     Open a File Explorer. Browse to “C:\Program Files\Condusiv Technologies\ExpressCache”

     Rename the file ExpressCacheApp.exe to ExpressCacheApp.tmp

  1. Reboot your system. Verify that the ExpressCache application is not running (no tray icon).

  2. Open a command line window in Administrator mode.

    Type the command:

           eccmd -info      <enter>

    Record the numbers displayed (mostly Total Used Size and Used Data Size)

    If the number is less than 1GB, just use your system normaly until the cache reach at least 1GB.

    (You can run eccmd - info again to check the cache values).

  1. After saving the numbers displayed by the command eccmd, reboot your system and perform the previous test again.

    COMPARE THE NEW NUMBERS WITH THE NUMBERS SAVED BEFORE REBOOT.
