I see here on the forums and in the amzon reviews many from sandisk support and others the lock feature will be added. This makes me want to believe otherwise. Does anyone know if it is ever comming for sure? I only have 28 days left to return it.

I understand your concern but I would like to inform that currently we have not any update if the player will have the firmware update which will update the lock feature on the player.
The e-mail is correct. There is “currently” no firmware update that will add a LOCK feature.
But it IS being worked on. There are other issues as well, so when it’s ready, it will be released.

See the way I read this it says they dont have a update if the player will have the firmware update to fix it. So you know for sure it is comming as well as the tracks playing out of order. I really like the extended battery life but I’m concerned it could take many months to come and from this email I cannot tell If this rep thinks it will be fixed ever. I know its not there now I was just wanting confermation from their technical support to make sure I don’t hold onto this thing and get stuck with a lousey player. I love the old clips so much.
I guess I mean who did you get your info from that it is being taken care of because as this guy’s email reads it sounds not so certain.
I can confirm key lock will be added in the next FW release which is currently in QA. Sorting will also be improved. While I do not have a release date for the FW update we hope to release soon. Thank you for your understanding.

Eh I ended up going ahead and taking it back and getting the clip zip again it was uber cheap at radioshack on sale 45 for the 8 gig. Maybe I’ll try a sport again in the future when they iron all this stuff out. I just couldn’t use it. I’ll miss that battery life but then again I always charge it at night so 15 hours or 25 hours I’m good either way.
+1 to this. Great job in considering customers’ suggestion.
