Cruzer not recognized & Code 39 ERR

Team:

If USB is orange & acts like it wants to be recognized, but has exclamation mark in Device Manager, here’s what you do.

Err > “Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)”

Error is caused by OS not ejecting USB correctly after ejecting from SanDisk menu.
You can try to eject from system tray, but no dice.
You are left with yanking the stick out.
This causes error.
As always, have a backup.

To fix issue …
Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager
DVD/CD-ROM Drives > SanDisk drive
Right click > Uninstall
Don’t worry, you’re only deleting driver.

Right click Safely Remove Hardware in System Tray
Select ( make blue ) SanDisk drive.
Stop > Select SanDisk drive > OK > Close
Remove SanDisk drive.

Reinsert SanDisk drive.
OS will reinstall driver for you.

Why this occurs is up to SanDisk to troubleshoot.
