Clip+ Playlist limit

I’ve got a 8GB Clip+.  I created a playlist with 1364 songs.  When playing the playlist, it only shows 1000 total songs in the playlist.  Is there a limit to the number of songs that can be contained in a playlist on the Clip+?

Very funny…I’m trying to find out if I did something wrong in creating the playlist or if there is a firmware limit.
