My sansa clip won’t charge unless the computer’s turned on. The literature says it should charge whether or not the computer is on. Any solutions?

Yes, leave your computer turned on to charge your player. In the manual, it says that “The computer must be on for most USB ports to charge your battery.” So the usb ports on your computer isn’t putting out any power while it’s turned off. It’s the same when the computer goes into hibernation or sleep mode. No power is being sent to the usb ports.
If you don’t want to leave your computer on just to charge the player, you can get a wall charger. They’re cheap and it’ll charge the player faster than on a computer and you can use the player while it’s charging.
Thank you! Will go with wall charger.

A high quality cheap charger for the Clip+ is a RAZR charger(made by Motorola) or a Blackberry charger( made by Blackberry). Make sure it is one with a mini USB connector. These are under $5 on Amazon.
