Cant get my wdtv hd media player to recognise my new wdbbep drive 1tb

HI HAVE PURCHASED MY PASSPORT WDBBEP ITB DRIVE AS MY OLD DRIVE WAS PINCHED FROM A HOTEL ROOM. i HAVE TO USE THE WDTV MEDIA PLAYER ON MY OLD SAMSUNG TV BUT THE OLD DRIVE USED TO WORK FINE ON ITS OWN ON MY SONS NEWER SAMSUNG TV. I CANT GET THE DRIVE TO LOAD USING THE WDTV MEDIA PLAYER ON THE OLDER SAMSUNG TV AND I TRIED IT ON MY SONS TV AND IT SEES THE DRIVE BUT DOES NOT THINK IT HAS ANYTHING ON IT? CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE. IS THE NEW PASSPORT UNCOMPATIBLE WITH THE HD MEDIA PLAYER AND MY SONS TV?

Hello,

This drive is compatible with the WD TV Media player, Just make sure you are using the USB cable that was supplied with your drive and that you have it plugged in directly into the USB port and not into a USB Hub. You may also try formatting the drive on the computer and then try again on the WD TV.

Hi thanks for taking the time to reply to me. I was away on abreak so thats why i have not replied sooner. I am using the cable supplied. When i connect the drive to WDTV Media player it eventually blinks once and nothing else happens? Should i really formatt the drive which in NTFS to Fat 32? Cant wait to resolve this issue. So grateful for any advice.

Hello,

It is not necessary to have your drive formatted as FAT32. The Media player supports NTFS. However, If its still not seen then I recommend that you format it to NTFS again just for testing purposes.

Compatible file systems for all WD TV models
