My Passport - PC sees the drive, WDTV live player does not!

Hi everybody,
Can someone help me out with this please?
My Windows 10 PC can see the My Passport drive, and play the films on it. It has been formatted using exFAT as the file system.
When it is connected to the WDTV live player,it does not see any media storage. Within settings,I go into disk manager, and it tells me there is no USB storage connected.
Where am I going wrong?

WDTV doesn’t support exFAT.

aha! ok, thank you Tony. What should I format it in then? I’m offered, in Windows 10 Disk Management, 3 options - exFAT, NTFS and REFS.

Use NTFS.
