My passport and WD TV Media player great together till recently I copied several files from my roommates external hard drive and now I haven’t been able to consistently play files when I want to through my media player. Could this be because if different formatting? I use a PC but he uses a MAC. Perhaps the files I copied from his hard drive are formatted different and affected the ones I had on my hard drive. any insight ?
The WDTV supports NTFS, Fat 32 and HFS. If the drive is formatted in a different format it won’t be supported. You can find out using your computer Disk Management. Then backup all your data and reformat the drive to the supported file system. I found a WD article to format the drives.
