I got a new 1TB My Passport yesterday (P/N: WDBBEP0010BRD-03), and reformatted it for mac, using the instructions outlined by WD themselves (at http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/search/1/a_id/3865/c/130/p/228,259,251),,) everything appeared fine until I plugged it into a WD TV mini media player (P/N: WDBAAM0000NBK-00) and it didn’t recognise the device. I’ve seen it can be due to problems with he USB 3.0, but my dad also has a fairly new 1TB My Passport (P/N: WDBBEP0010BBK-03) with USB 3.0 and it works fine. Have I messed it up with the reformatting or is this particular drive just incompatible?

The drive should work properly with your WD TV Mini Media player. I recommend that you connect it to your computer and format it again and then try on the media player.
