Can my Sandisk 64gb SDXC class 10 card be bad?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out if my SDXC card is bad? I am a drummer and I record myself playing with a Zoom Q2HD camcorder and I use the Sandisk SDXC 64gb class 10 card for memory. occasionally the video and audio are out of sync, whcih I can fix with Adobe Premiere Pro, but tonight the video was fine and the audio was in sync up until the end were it cut out a chunk of audio. I think this could be a write/saving problem with the card, since I discover this during playback, but it could be my camcorder too. I don’t know, so I’m here to try and eliminate one of the possibilites. Also, should I try and reformat the card? Would that help me figure it out? Thanks in advance for any help…

   Hi Ludwig,

Dear member of SanDisk Community, welcome.

Friend, with respect to the card [SDXC 64 GB, Class 10], we analyze the following:

Please, consult the manual of the camcorder, in the specification section, if the card [SDXC 64 GB, class 10], with exFAT format is fully supported.
If supported, we continue:

1-    Clean the pins of the card, and device slot, with isopropyl alcohol (or also, the medicinal).

2-    If still bad: test your card, in other laptops, directly to its port-card (not USB card-reader), to discard the camcorder and see what happens.

3-    If still bad: in Start / My Computer, on the card icon, click the right mouse button, and then click in Properties/Tools/Error Checking and Repair.

3. 1 You can also use the tool (portable app, free): USB Check Disk 1.40, http://filecloud.io/i4zjka2r

4-    If still bad: backing up the contents, and then try formatting with (portable app free): USB Flash SD Formatter, http://filecloud.io/jqtu1byc

5-    If still bad: then you can verify, with these portable apps (free), if it’s wrong or is fake:

USB Flash H2testw,    http://filecloud.io/jl4fhn9b   -It’s the classic utility, but for 64 Gb, it takes ~ 4 hours.
USB Flash FakeTest,  http://filecloud.io/n074g3    -It’s similar, but has a quick option, and takes minutes.

6- To obtain the internal data of the UFD, you can use (portable apps, free): USB Flash ChipGenius 4.00, http://filecloud.io/rqa7etmv
                                                                                                                                        USB Flash Deview 2.30,          http://filecloud.io/srp2hegw
                                                                                                                                        USB Flash DriveLetter 1.30,    http://filecloud.io/vgqzcdyh
                                                                                                                                        USB Drive Manager 4.20,         http://filecloud.io/ydi9jpac

Well, with this, you’ll have a idea…

Luck, and then you tell us, what happened, please.

Regards, Alfred.                                                              (Google translated)

Hello Alfred,

Thanks for your reply. I looked at the camcorder’s website and this is what I found. This is what was tested and considered fully compatible. I don’t know if that means my Sandisk 64gb card won’t work or not.  Otherwise, I may need a new SDXC card from a different brand.

* When a long-term video recording is performed with SDXC cards, the Q2HD may stop recording unexpectedly. In that case, please select “30fps” from [VIDEO] setting or select “AAC” format from [SOUND] setting.

My card appears to be equivalent to the tested one’s. Sometimes certain ones just aren’t compatible. Thanks.
