How do I use this great little MP3 player with a Mac. I don’t have any software, can I locate it online. Thanks for your help. Mel
No software available or needed. Just set your Clip to the USB mode MSC (in Settings).
Be aware though that the Apple proprietary music formats .aac or .m4p are not supported. You’ll need to convert any of these to .mp3, the universal audio format.
Thanks for your prompt response. Mel

Did you read the 2nd post in this thread?

As a general matter, not needed–just set the Clip to USB MSC mode (under its settings) and then drag and drop/copy and paste. That’s a big joy of the Clip–no iTunes or other software needed.
Some users report issues with transferring files from a Mac to the Clip, due to how a Mac transfers files. In that case, Kopymac, easy-to-use Internet freeware, has been recommended.
I’m struggling with the same issue. The clip has 4 gig on it but after dragging and dropping onto desktop it only has a few bytes transferred. Also I cannot see the files under the different headings on the Clip in Finder.
What am I doing wrong?
If you transfered file onto the Clip in MTP mode (on Windows/Linux) you won’t be able to copy them off using the Finder in MacOS. How did you add the files?
I’m a PC guy, but as I understand it, you need to set the “USB mode” on your Clip (under the Clip’s settings) to MSC mode, for the Clip to work with a Mac. Also, when it transfers files, the Mac OS also has a tendency to create and transfer “ghost” files in addition to the files being transferred, which the Mac OS uses but which also can choke the Clips and other Windows-oriented devices, including cameras and other audio players. There have been various solutions posted here about that (you can search for them–use the box at the upper right), including using the “Mac OS teminal emulator” (or something like that), but the solution that seems easiest to me is to use 3rd-party software KopyMac, available at download.com, to transfer files from the Mac–it’s easy to use, free, and eliminates the Ghost files. Hopefully, that will get you on your way!
New Guy here who registered just to ask about Kopymac. I’ve been searching for Kopymac - all the links including CNET, findmysoft, et al appear to be dead at the publlishers page leading me to think their business, most unfortunately, has failed. i hope i’m wrong. Can anyone posy a link to it from an alt source? Thanks!
Perhaps download.com is having a temporary glitch? The site says that it had downloads of the software last week. Perhaps try it later? http://download.cnet.com/KopyMac/3000-2248_4-35530.html?tag=mncol;1
nope, doesn’t work, tried safari and firefox: “Firefox can’t find the server at digitol.homeip.net.” Went to the website that seems to be dead as well. Thanks for the reply, welcome any ideas…t
At macupdate.com, it says that the software has been discontinued.
And when I try to get to the developer’s website, I can’t connect up. http://digitol.homeip.net
You would think: wouldn’t the software be archived somewhere? Or, how about at/through a Mac user forum?
What are you looking for/what is the issue? As a general matter, no special software is needed–just set the Clip to USB MSC mode (under its settings) and then drag and drop/copy and paste. That’s a big joy of the Clip–no iTunes or other software is needed.
Some users report issues with transferring files from a Mac to the Clip, due to how a Mac transfers files (it creates extra “ghost” files on the receiving device which then can clog the device). In that case, Hidden Cleaner, easy-to-use Internet freeware, has been recommended, to transfer files from a Mac to other devices.
And then what?
