Out of 7 clips I have bought over the last year (some for gifts) 3 have broken accessory clips caused by the tension if the thin metal spring breaking through the back of the plastic accessory clip. Most of the other clips have some form of dent where the spring presses into it. Sansa could have designed a better way to distribute the pressure…
Sansas Engineering failed when they put a this much pressure at a single point on the plastic. Even my 2 week old 8gb clip is showing signs of a dent rising up.
SANSA FIX THIS. Its unacceptable. It is my only complaint about the product. It might seem like a small detail, but the plastic clip is important to the device and its portability.
I don’t abuse the clip, all i do is clip it to my shirt, but i do it daily.

I 've had mine for a month and a half, use it almost every single day, some days it’s thrown in a backpack…no scratches, dents, breaks of any kind 
That is nice Marvin Martian. Good luck with that. Your good luck doesn’t change the fact there is a problem. There have been others in this forum who have had the same issue. And scanning the web there are even more people who have had to deal with it. If your clip breaks you will understand. If I only had one clip out of 7 have a crack in the accessory clip I wouldn’t have posted. But I have had 3 out of 7 clips. I’m sure Sansa is well aware of the issue. They need to improve this. And it would be a simple engineering fix.
They absolutely are aware of the issue, from warranty returns and the fact they sell replacement clips.
