Back Up and Drag and Drop

Probably a really stupid question. I have bought myself a 2tb My passport external drive. My laptop only as 120Gb of built in storage. On my phone I have loads of photos and 4k video I want to back up in a safe place. Is it possible to back up my laptop using the provided software and also be able to drag and drop file such as photos and documents on to the drive because of my lack of space on my laptop.

In short can I use the drive as a backup device and also “drag and drop files” like a memory stick.

You can backup your data from your computer to the drive using WD backup software’s or by simply dragging and dropping the files on the external my passport drive.

Hi that’s fantastic. So I can do both. Have it set up as a back up with WD software and use it as a "memory stick " at the same time.
