Anyone else STILL waiting for a replacement unit?

Back in the middle of July the headphone socket on my 8gb Clip+ stopped working in one ear so I returned it to SanDisk’s returns department in the Czech Republic. They received it then told me it’d be exactly a month before they would send me a replacement. Sure enough, a month later they came back to me, but asked if I’d prefer a 4gb one and a 4gb sd card as they had ran out of 8gb ones… :womansad: what???
I said I’d rather wait as I use my sd slot and I’d be 4gb down. Weeks after that, still waiting. I tried asking for an Amazon credit as they’ve got plenty of 8gb units, sadly no reply on that front.

Anyone else waiting?

Haven’t you heard that’s one of the biggest lies lies in the world?

“The Czech’s in the mail.”

Sorry; couldn’t resist. :stuck_out_tongue:

Seriously though, that is indeed a bummer. I wouldn’t have taken the 4 x 4 either. Suggest to them that they subistute one of the new 8GB Clip Zips instead. It’s basically an upgraded Clip+.

Good idea :3 Have asked, hope they are receptive to the idea, that would almost make it worth being without an mp3 player for nearly 2 months.

Today they basically told me not to be silly as they just checked their records and a replacement is on its way and gave me a tracking number. Checked the tracking number and it was sent yesterday from America. Guess they weren’t going to tell me :3 I really hope it’s an 8gb and not a 4 and 4.

I’m hoping as its being sent from America rather than Czech Republic that at the very least they have some 8gbs in America and decided to send from there :3

You’ll never guess what now, it was marked as being worth $58 and UPS now want £18.12 (about $30) from me as they had to pay import duty and VAT as it came into the country… I’ve told Sandisk but they haven’t sorted it out and UPS have come over twice so far as they want their money. Not very happy at all.

I have EXACTLY the same problem right down to the £18.12. I’ve been made to wait ages, been fobbed off and now been charged 'cos Sandisk can’t pay their P&P.

I’m sorry but Sandisk provide the most shockingly bad customer service i have ever encountered.

I refused delivery and I think it got 'return to sender’ed because they didn’t pay after UPS tried delivering it 3 times with me refusing. They’re sending me another one that they say won’t have the same issue.

It’s arrived! In a box 10 times too large, it was rattling around in it and it’s scratched all across the front but it’s here and it works.

No, it’s oka I’ve had enough of it all now xD Hankering for a Zip Clip now, will wait until it’s not 3 times the price in the UK than in the USA and when that day comes I will praaaaaay to silicon heaven (where all the calculators go) that nothing ever ever ever goes wrong with it.

Guess what, the replacement one has hardly been used and the clip has broken!!! :womanvery-happy: :womansad:

Bummer!  Are you going to get another replacement?  Or do a DIY repair job?

They said that if the clip snaps off more than once that it’s down to customer negligence and they won’t replace it usually but they’ll replace it for me this once as I had to wait a long time last time. " If the clip is broken again, it is considered physical damage due to mishandling and is not covered under warranty. " They won’t give me a Zip Clip, in fact they still offered a 4 + 4 and still want tme to return it to the Czech Republic at a cost to me of about €12…

So I think I’ll live with it and consider never buying a Sandisk mp3 product again if the build quality and customer services is always going to be like this xD

If it’s any consolation, SanDisk says that the Clip Zip’s clip is hardier than the clip on the Clip+ . . . .

And the Clip+'s clip is about 500% stronger than on the original Clip.
