I’m using a SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD as an external drive for storing photos, videos, and some work files. Yesterday I accidentally formatted the drive while trying to prepare another external disk. I realized the mistake immediately and stopped using the SSD right away.
The drive still shows up on my Windows PC, but of course all the files are gone. I haven’t copied anything new to it since the format.
Has anyone here successfully recovered data from a formatted SanDisk external SSD? I’m wondering what the safest next step is. Should I try recovery software myself, or is it better to contact a professional data recovery service to avoid making things worse?
Any advice from people who have been through this would be really appreciated.
