I cannot delete any files off of my SSD drive. It stays on 0% complete. Just bought it brand new out of the box

Hi Razor829
-
Open Disk Management and try formatting the SSD. Keep in mind that this will erase all the data on it.
-
Open Command Prompt as an administrator and type
chkdsk X: /f
(replaceX
with the letter of your SSD) to check for errors. -
Ensure the SSD is formatted as NTFS or exFAT, which work best with Windows.
-
Go to Device Manager, find your SSD, right-click it, and choose Update driver
-
Open Command Prompt as an administrator, type
diskpart
, thenlist disk
, select your SSD, and typeattributes disk clear readonly
to remove any read-only settings.
If none of these steps help, the SSD might be defective, and you should reach out to the manufacturer for help or consider returning it.
