I bought an AC and Car charger for my clip. However neither seems to work. When I connect the clip to the computer with the USB cable it seems to charge fine. However when I connect it to the AC charger it turns on, but does not charge. It seems to discharge while connected (because the charger turns it on, but is not charging it). I had no luck with the car charger either. Both are rated for 5V 500ma. Anyone know what is going on? Can you recomend an inexpensive AC charge that works? I would like to be able to charge it when I travel.
I don’t have model numbers. I use an ac charger from an old motorola cellphone. It had no problems charging. The clip has to stay on while it charges, the clip’s cpu monitors the process. So even though you can turn it off when its plugged into an AC charger you may not get it to charge. There was some discussion about the charging current. My AC adapter is 750 ma. at 5 or 5.5 v dc. Also have a 12 volt adapter for the car… it charges fine, don’t recall the brand bought it at bestbuy.
Maybe someone else will be able to suggest brands/models.

That’s about what I paid (also included was a rubber case). The wall charger worked fine. The auto cord was just a little too tight fit at the clip end, ok after a little work with a fine file. My GPS auto power cord also works fine with the clip. I’m surprised the op is having a problem. Funny thing with the auto cord. It would plug into everything else (GPS, Camera), and all my other cords would plug into the clip. Just had a problem with the clip and that particular connector.

Which old Motorola phone?
I have my A/C charger for my Moto KRZR K1 that I have thought about trying (and a non-OEM car charger for the same), but I am worried about frying my $75 Clip (may not seem like a lot of money to some, but to me it is).
I can’t seem to find specs for the phone or the charger, but I would think that, since you’re supposed to be able to charge the KRZR from a USB port, the chargers should work.
I looked around my power strip… I have a blackberry charger that works fine. Just tested it. PSM04A-050RIM. 5 vdc @ .75A The OLD motorola phone has been discarded and was much older than the razers…
I have two that work with my Clip…5V, 500mA (a Motorola phone charger ) , and one that is 5V, 1A (which was originally intended for a Creative player, I think ) .
Well, I just ordered 3 sets of chargers from sellout.woot, so I’ll be all set.
I still have a feeling my MOTO chargers would work, but I’d rather have chargers for everything anyway. I mean, what if I needed to charge my phone and my Clip at the same time, but only have one charger? I hate to even think about it!
The charger sets come with the proprietary Sansa USB cables (OEM, too, from what I understand), which I don’t need since I only have the Clip. So, I’ll have three cables that I don’t need. Therefore, if anyone needs a cable for their Fuze or whatever, PM me and I’ll mail you one (if you are among the first three to PM me, that is).

I also discovered something else today that could be relevant to Clip owners…http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board/message?board.id=sansafuse&thread.id=31910
