A Way To Increase Volume

Thanks for the replies guys.

Marvin, that’s the way I’ve got it set up and it’s adequate.  Overall I’m happy with it.

It’s for a workout and I can hear the tunes to that’s the point I guess.   I’m like a kid in

that I’m always looking of more volume.   That’s why my hearing ■■■■■ to begin with…lol.

Regards,

Len

You’ve probably set your Region to Europe which applies a gov’t.-mandated volume restriction. Luckily, there is a way around it. Reset your Factory Defaults and it will ask you again to choose your Region , This time, select Rest of World (or North America). You will now have your High volume option back in the Settings menu.

Don’t forget the volume rocker switch on the side to raise or lower the volume. These things will blast your ears out, so be careful!

You didn’t say what model of Clip you have. I’m assuming it’s the Clip+, although there is also the Clip (original) and Cip Zip models.

On the Clip+, go to Settings > System Settings > Reset Factory Settings > Yes. Note all options are not visible in the little screen on the player. You will have to scroll (up or down) to find and select all options.

Note also this is different from a regular (and frequently talked about) reset. This is where you hold down the power button for 20-30 seconds, release, then restart. This is a main system reset, and can/should be used if the player ever freezes up or fails to respond to button presses, or otherwise acts wonky.

Resetting the “Factory Settings” changes your personal settings and the USB mode back to the way it was when it came from the factory. This is why (and how) you can change the Region settings. After doing this, you will also have to reapply your personal settings, like Backlight, power save mode, sleep timer, FM presets and the like.

Good for you! If you have the Clip+ model, the latest firmware is 01.02.16. You can find it here:

http://forums.sandisk.com/t5/Sansa-Clip-Sansa-Clip/Sansa-Clip-Firmware-Update-01-02-16/m-p/150227/highlight/true#M31277

V01.02.09 is also for the Clip+, but is an older fw version. I would update to the .16 release, manually applying it following the directions in the linked-to post.
.

V01.01.35 is for the original (hardware version 1) Clip, a different model and will not work if you have a Clip+ or Zip.

more problems…now i think i have got the wrong FW in the player…

it will not let me do carnt do a fatory reset on the player in the menu…

the updater software dont work on my windows 7 so thats no good…

i think im sending it back …ant spending any more time on this…

Impossible. The player will only accept the firmware desgned for that particular model. You cannot install the wrong firmware on it, even if you wanted to.

In youy last post, things seemed to be working OK, what happened?

@dreww wrote:

Don’t use the Updater. It will only update the firmware. If you have the latest, but there’s a corruption problem or other reason you want to re-apply in the firmware, it won’t work. That’s why I advised manually installing it.

Do you have an “Unknown” artist in the Muisc menu? If you select this, is your ‘missing’ music there? Thses things sort and display the infirmation contained in the ID3 tags of the music files. If your music doesn’t have tags, or they are the wrong format, etc. it doesn’t know what to do with the information it cannot read, so lumps it together under an “Unknown” heading.

Have you read the User’s Guide? It will explain and instruct you on many of the basic function of these players.

ok mate thanks for the help …

Well, there’s your problem, or at least part of it. MP4 is a multimedia format and is not supported on the Clip+. Maybe those are the ones with the lyric embedded. Youy’ll have to find those and remove them. I wouldn’t try doing it on the player though, they’re likely to freeze it up.

Connect your player to your computer and navigate to the Music folder/directory on the player in Windows Explorer. Then do a Search for *.mp4. This should return all files with this file extension so you can delete them.

Sorry i got the files rong that i carnt find an delet …they are mpeg layer3 mp3 winamp file

god now i carnt get the player to conecet to the pc lol …? wouldent be cuz i took the player updater out the pc??
