None of the WD software except Lifeguard can see the drive. I get a “Attach a supported WD drive”. Windows 10 sees it ok but I purchased it for the WD Security. BTW, I also have 3 Passport Ultra drives (1 and 2 tb’s) and they all work perfectly with the WD software. Running Windows 10, 64 bit. I tried other cables and other USB ports.
Not sure how that’s possible. The WD My Passport Wireless doesn’t support WD Security as far as I was aware – it’s a non-encrypted drive.
Sorry, put the wireless reference in the wrong spot. I have 3 Passport Ultra’s that work well with the WD Security and one Passport wireless that works fine.
What is the model number of the passport that isn’t working with WD security?
Hello, wileydog, I am new to this community thing, but I have exactly the same problem in getting WD Security to see my new 4T Passport. Worked fine with earlier 1TB and 2TB Ultra models. The 4T is not Ultra. Did you ever get a solution to the problem, and if not, what can we do? Very grateful if you can help.
I talked on the phone to WD support and they could not solve the problem so they recommended that I return the drive. So, I did and purchased another Ultra, which works perfectly.
Take care,
Many thanks for reply. Will do as you did. Thanks again
