Why does the bluetooth connection break up after resuming playing?

I have my Clip Sport connect with a Bose QuietComfort II earbuds. Most of the time when I pause playing an MP# and then resume, the Bluetooth connection is very flaky and the sound breaks up a lot. To resolve this issue, I have to go to the Bluetooth setting, turn off then on Bluetooth to clear this up. Or switch to another device, and it doesn’t have to be on, then back to the Bose.

What can be the issue with the player?
