I’m updating the firmware on my Nikon Z7ii. There are two directories found on the CFexpress card (DCIM/NIKON). There are two card slots and the CFexpress slot (slot 1) is the primary.
I’m directed to copy the file to the “upper most root directory” of the primary card. The hierarchy on the card is as follows: DCIM and NIKON (below DCIM).
I figured the directory that stores my picture files (NIKON) is the subordinate directory and DCIM is the upper most directory. I’m I correct?
I’ve copied the “.bin” file from the zip download to the DCIM root directory, and inserted the card into my camera. It doesn’t update. I’m reading the Nikon manual step by step, but nothing happens when I insert the card into the camera. I go to settings/firmware and it’s supposed to automatically upload but doesn’t. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
