WD Passport not being recognised by PS3

I recently formatted my WD Passport to FAT 32 so my PS3 would recognise it but the light on the passport isn’t showing up now. Not sure what to do with this. Do you have to have a specific FAT32 external hard drive made for PS3’s?

Any help would be appreciated.

Western Digital does not have any specific drive formatted as FAT32.  I recommend that you try your drive on the computer to verify if you have the same issue with the front led light.
